ashrams Can't Post

Hi all I was thinking of travelling overseas next year to stay in a ashram for a month or so to further my study of yoga- could anyone please relate their personal experiences of staying in a ashram and or recommend any. I am currently training to become a teacher of hatha yoga but also attend inyegar classes.Thankyou

Re: [caza77] ashrams [In reply to] Can't Post

I recently went on Swami Sarasvati Yoga and Ayurveda Tour of India. (www.swami.com.au)

Firstly it was fantastic - too many highlights to mention.

Secondly we went to a number of ashrams.

  • Guruma ashram ashram was fantastic
  • We also stayed at okanada ashram at rishikesh - Absolutely beautiful, right on the banks of the Ganges. Be careful in rishikesh. There are a lot of ashrams that are extremely bare and hard.

I hope these have been of assistance.

Namaste
