Are we classed as full time students for concession travel?

Namaste,

Rod

I'm not sure if we are classed as full time students. However I rang centre link and the Met, and apparently you can not get a discount on public transport unless you have a low income concession card. It varies from state to state (i.e. in some states any full time student gets concession, but not in victoria).

Sending you all the good news that the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching has been recognised for the purposes of Youth Allowance, Austudy Payment, ABSTUDY and the Pensioner Education Supplement delivered through Centrelink. The Accreditation expiry date is 31/12/07.

The Centrelink Reference Number for this course is 3C045.

In regards to travel concessions: This course is registered with Centerlink as a full time course, which means that all students enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching are elligible for travel concessions. We are in the process in applying for registration with the Transport Authorities, and we will let you know as soon as they get back to us.

Thats really good news, both for us and for the course, people seems to take you much more seriously when you say the course you are doing is a full time course

Hi all,

You can now get concession travel as the course is classed as full time.

You just need to:
  • collect a concession travel form from a train station or metshop,
  • then complete the form,
  • attached two pictures,
  • get signed by Jo or Joyce,
  • then take the form to the Metshop cnr Swanston & Lt Collins st and they will issue the concession travel card Smile.

Namaste,

Rod

Hey, before everyone runs off to pay their $100 odd dollars, I have heard that the government is to announce a reduction in the cost of a concession card to only $8. Hold tight.
