Halasana - going deeper Can't Post

Halasana is my favorite asana. Only in one book have I seen information about the variation where one brings their knees to their ears. I am progressing slowly and safely and wanted to receive some guidance on continuing. I keep my neck and throat relaxed.

Thank you all.

Namaste'

This pose is called Karnapidasana (ear pressure pose (choking pose); same as Pasini Mudra (seal of the noose).

Exercise caution if the neck is sensitive.

An easier version

When in Halasana, bend both knees and rest them on the floor on either side of your head. Either stretch both arms along the floor, away from body, or hold the feet.

Tradition Version

Pasini mudra, the Folded Seal.
Start in the easier version above, then when the knees are securely in place, wrap arms around the back of the knees and cup ears with hands, or touch fingertips behind the neck.

There are other variations in padmasana

Namaste,

Rod

I love Karnapidasana, it's part of the finishing series in Ashtanga yoga, so I've been doing it since forever.

It's so peaceful and quiet, I love how the sounds of the world gets drowned out in this pose...

beautiful.
