Urdhva Dandasana

This is the one where you're in headstand and drop your legs to a right angle, sort of like halasana in Salamba Sirsasana. The problem is this: so easy coming down, so hard going up! Any suggestions for going up via straight legs, and pausing for even the briefest moment in Urdhva Dandasana? I realize the hips need to pivot back to balance the weight, but I think there must be some other finagling that needs doing. Coming down, the trick seems to be to really dig into the floor with the forearms and hands, so the neck doesn't take the strain. And, again, the hip movement's key. The photo in Light on Yoga shows it clearly. Namaste, Rod _________________ Yoga au Yoga is a light; which, once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame. --BKS Iyengar
