What's your favorite asana? at the moment Can't Post

I'm curious to see what postures are your favorites. Mine right now is Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (Upward Facing Dog), especially when coordinating it with Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog) I enjoy the strength involved with this posture and the sequencing involved.

Namaste,

Rod

I'm really enjoying Sirsasana (headstand) and Salamba Savangasana (shoulder stand), and doing variations in them, such as splits, badrasana and twisting. I find it really help to change my mood - become more Sattvic! I like to finish my practice with these two asanas before meditation. I been practicing Maha Mudra aswell - hard to desc

I tend to spend a great deal of time in my head; imagining, theorising, thinking... So i'm really enjoying virabhadrasana II at the moment. Its such a contrast; i immediately feel really grounded, and become aware of my own inner strength. Suddenly life seems a lot less challenging.

It's nice to read about what others are enjoying in each asana, as it brings a whole new appreciation in my own practise...so thanx Smile

Mine is Janu Sirasana and its variation Parivrtta Janu Sirasana (seated head to knee & revolved seated head to knee). Seated poses have always been my favourite - probably because my knees and ankles are weaker because of old injuries so I have always preferred them. I like the cleansing action on the internal organs, I find it relieves at least temporarily some acute symptoms of PMT and I like the inward lookingness and grounded feeling I get in the pose. I find that I am able to tune in observe how things are in my body in these poses - what is feeling good today and what isn't feeling so great. I also get great third eye awareness as well as grounding down through the base chakra - its a good way to get my energy flowing.

That was actually a really beautifull discription of the pose nadine it makes me want to do Janu Sirasana right now.

I also quite like this one its such a strong streach in such a major muscle its easy to relax into it.

Virabhadrasana... Virabhadrasana... Virabhadrasana... To me the perfect balance between strength, flexibility, and calm.

I love Virabhadrasana too. Plainly, I had the a priori that yoga was all about twisted corpses and when I first saw warrior positions, I think I started to see that yoga was something else. I was very happy the first time I did these positions.
Besides, I love savasana and the feeling of fullness that goes with it.

I have two favorite asanas: halasana for physical and a bit mental wellbeing; it makes me warn, relaxed and happy both physically and mentally. The other one is padmasana (after practising other asanas) - it is total relaxation on all levels.

Does savasana count? Tongue

If not, I like matsyasana because the name is cute Wink

Seriously though, marichyasana C always feels super for me. I love the twisting action, it always loosens the spine and strangely, I feel taller after I do it.

Karnapidasana is good too, especially when I'm practising in class and there's noise around, I like that in karnapidasana, you can block out the sounds other students make, which makes this pose extra enjoyable.
