Ujjayi Pranayama Can't Post

Hello,
I have started Pranayama since a month and have a few questions regarding the correct method of doing it.I have started with Ujjayi Pranayama after reading the Light on Pranayama b ook by BKS Iyengar.I also read several articles on Ujjayi and how it is to be done. After i started to practice it,i got confused because i read that basically Ujjayi is to be done with the Golitis(throat)partially contracted. Now when i do that i breathe with my throat, with my mouth closed. If i try to breathe with just my nostrils,i cant breathe deeply as i can with my throat.I would like to know if i am doing it correctly. The feel of the deep breathe i get when i do it the throat is very good as compared to the nostril breathing. Also i would like to know if the air is not supposed to be taken in the belly at all and stopped right where the ribs end.It is said that one is not supposed to breathe into the belly, but when i breathe fully a bit of mt upper abdomen gets inflated otherwise i dont get the full satisfaction of a complete breath.
I would like to discusst his with somebody who practices Pranayama and would appreciate it someone can let me know about this.
Slick.
