Hi everyone! I am new to these boards and this is my first post. I don't usually say hi by creating a new thread but I'm in desperate need of ideas/feedback. I teach Yoga for the city I live in & I have been asked to be a guest speaker at a local fair/festival in the health and wellness area. I don't know how it is set up or how it's going to go I just know that there is going to be a stage where different types of practitioners will be talking or demonstrating what they do ie. chiropractors, massage therapists, accupuncturists etc. This is the first year for this type of exibit and my instructions were basically that I have 15 minutes on Sat and Sun to get on stage and talk or do something that represents Yoga and inspire the people in the audience to want to take Yoga classes. I have thought about bringing my 10 yr old daughter and my friend who is in her mid 40's and have the three of us do a little demo showing that people of all ages and fitness levels will benefit or maybe talking briefly about the effects that stress has on the body and the importance of learning relaxation then including the audience in some simple breathing exercises and maybe some stretches they can do while seated in their chairs. I only have 15 minutes and the stage is small so I have heard but I can bring 2 people onstage with me or just myself. It's this Sat and Sun and I am still at a loss. I feel like it's so important to represent Yoga in the right light and I feel like if I do this right I could get a lot of people who would have never tried Yoga before to try it out. So I feel a big responsibility and would appreciate any suggestions or feedback. By the way my name is Kelly I live in So Cal I am a Registered Nurse Yoga/Meditation teacher for the last year and a half. Thanks for reading!! Help!!!
