smoking cessation Can't Post

Are there any specific kriyas and/or meditations used for smoking cessation? I'd like to find something beneficial in this area that I can practice for 40 days in preparation to stop smoking. Breath of Fire early in the morning feels like suffocation for me, and I avoid long yoga sessions such as retreats or White Tantric classes because I know I'll be craving a smoke after a few hours. I'm really ready to break free of this habit.

I tried the Medical Meditation for Habituation given in the book Kundalini Yoga Guidelines for Sadhana, published by the KRI, but it leaves my jaw aching!

Re: [newuser] smoking cessation [In reply to] Can't Post

Dear new user,
I smoked for a long time, and the most compassionate attitude towards smoking i have heard comes from the writings of Albert Camus. I found my need to smoke dropped away after many years of gradually developing a yoga practice, and I too would avoid intensives. I think a weekly class and a good relationship with the teacher is worth a great deal more than intensive retreats.
Namaste, Carolyn Minchin.

I don't know anything specific. Nonetheless, practicing Yoga in general will help because it reduces stress. Stress causes smokers to depend on smoking.
